Conway Stewart, the renowned English pen manufacturer has been chosen by  Traditional Arts  Ltd  to commission a fountain pen bearing an exclusive design by artist Amber Khokhar.

The products in the core collection have been designed by students and alumni of The Prince's School of Traditional Arts, in accordance with principles of harmony enshrined in the artistic traditions of the world's great cultures.

Common to all these traditions are ideas about line and proportion, about what constitutes beauty, all derived from the order of the natural world. The Company's products are alive with contemporary creativity that draws its nourishment from these principles.

The Conway Stewart Arabesque edition offers the discerning consumer a hand crafted English made fountain pen adorned with elegant and striking engraving. This gives the buyer the opportunity to own a beautiful work of art that is usable in everyday life.

The engraving design by artist Amber Khokhar is inspired by arabesque, a style of decoration based on plant forms that emerged between 750 and 1600 AD. Like more purely geometrical patterns, it is governed by underlying mathematical principles derived ultimately from Euclidean Geometry, but it has a particular exuberance and freedom that comes from its celebratory evocation of the natural world. Here the rhythm and harmony of the lively biomorphic shapes, contained within a circle, express the universal principle of growth and renewal.

The Arabesque fountain pen is crafted from a solid rod of hallmarked sterling silver and is launched in a world-wide edition of only 10 pieces. LE #1 was presented to HRH The Prince of Wales for his 60th birthday celebrations.

The Arabesque engraving pattern harmonizes with the cylindrical shape of the cap and barrel and is set off with highly polished cap top, cap band, and an elegantly tapered barrel end. It is further accented by a silver pocket clip in the classic and stately design that has graced Conway Stewart writing instruments since the 1930s. The solid sterling silver section leaves the weight cantered low in the hand, ensuring that the pen is balanced well when writing. The 18 carat gold nib is accented with rhodium plating and is available in eight nib widths, allowing the ideal choice for your individual handwriting style. Ink is delivered via the reliable converter cartridge system. The Arabesque Limited Edition is packaged in a classic presentation box with a certificate from Traditional Arts.
