Away from work – and my girlfriend will hate me for saying this, my real passion is football. I am a massive Arsenal fan and very rarely miss a game. That photo is even taken during the 'Emirates Stadium' tour, home of Arsenal FC.

Aside from watching it – I play a lot of football as well. Whilst at college I represented my County of Somerset, as well as the South West British college’s team and more recently I played for the University 1st team. I am in the process of finding a new team in the Plymouth area – you never know the direction Plymouth Argyle FC are heading I could be playing against them sometime soon!

Let me tell you a bit about myself...

Image of Vedad ObradovicI was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and I moved to England 2 weeks prior to my fifth birthday with my older sister and parents. We were one of the lucky families who managed to escape just before the war began to intensify, unfortunately, the rest of my family were trapped and had to endure 3 years of brutal conflict.

My memories of Bosnia are limited; thankfully I was too young to remember the whole situation, and my parents are happy for it to remain like that. Although we have talked about the troubles back home, I sense that they have sheltered me from a lot of the details. Nowadays, I prefer to talk about Bosnia as this beautiful country, one which I visit most summers, somewhere I can relax and catch up with my family and friends and to a degree appreciate the life I have here in England.

Having lived in England for over 3 quarters of my life now – I most definitely see myself British. After all I was brought up here, educated here; found my own home and a job here too. I even speak better English then I do Bosnian which still annoys my parents to this day.

Having finished my schooling and college I made the move south to Plymouth University to study Business Studies. My real passion since I have been a kid was to be a ‘business man’ – what that entailed back then I do not really know but it is a route I have followed to this day.

During my time at university it was clear that I had a particular interest for marketing and this was confirmed during my time within the British banking sector at Lloyds TSB. Although I enjoyed my time at Lloyds TSB, I always had aspirations of working in a company which in some ways was small enough to make a significant contribution to, but big enough to challenge and test me. To my pleasure I found Conway Stewart and after numerous ‘grillings’ from the Managing Director I was offered the role as ‘Sales and Marketing Manager’. The rest as they say is history.

Finally….. And to make it sound like I have other interests apart from work and football, I enjoy spending the majority of my free time with my girlfriend and friends, often eating out and shopping .I also enjoy going to the local gym and pretend to work out to make me feel better after the eating out!

So there you have it, that’s me. An eventful journey you may say, but one which I would not change and I look to the future with great anticipation.
